SASP Formula Grant Program
The SASP Formula Grant Program funds states and territories to support rape crisis centers and other nonprofit, nongovernmental organizations, including faith-based and other community organizations, that provide core services, direct intervention, and related assistance to victims of sexual assault. SASP funds are designed to supplement other funding sources directed at addressing sexual assault on the state and territorial level. Rape crisis centers and other nonprofit organizations such as dual programs providing both domestic violence and sexual violence intervention services play a vital role in assisting sexual assault victims through the healing process, as well as assisting victims through the medical, criminal justice, and other social support systems.
Big Changes Are Coming
On Sept. 22, the Grants Management System (GMS) that OVW grantees have been using to report OVW-funded activities will be closed, and on Oct. 15, a new progress reporting platform—JustGrants—will open. Please see the JustGrants website for more about the transition, and view the OVW Action Dates memo for transition-related date and deadline information. SASP Formula administrators will continue to submit subgrantee data directly to VAWA MEI and then submit their form using JustGrants. The instructions and reporting tools on this website will be updated as soon as possible this fall to help grantees prepare.
