FAQs Related to Training

Q: We often have youth and professionals attend our training events, do we report the youth attendees in Section C1 Training?
A: For the purposes of this form, only professionals are reported in the Training Section.  Non-professionals, like parents and youth that engage in grant-funded prevention or education activities, can be reported in narrative q.44 using the Special Instructions for Comprehensive Projects (page 5).

FAQs Related to Victim Services

Q: We serve youth who are victims of domestic violence, how do we report these youth on the form?
A: The CY program uses the progress reporting form for the Children Exposed to Violence program that was created prior to the CY program.  Therefore, the form is not an exact fit for all your grant funded activities and what you are being asked to report.  Therefore, you need to use the Special Instructions to accurately report until a new form is created.  Please read the instructions carefully and feel free to give us a call directly if you have any questions.

Q: How do we report victims/survivors who are older than 17 years old?

Q: Many of the clients we serve are “at-risk” youth, meaning they have been referred to us because there are warning signs that they are being sexually exploited or abused. Do we report them as served in the victim services section?
A: No.  Grant-funded services/activities provided to at-risk youth who have not disclosed victimization are not reported in Section D Victim Services.  Please detail these grant-funded activities in narrative q.39.

Q: What is an example of a youth who has been “indirectly exposed” to violence?  
A:  An example of a youth “indirectly exposed” would be a teen who witnessed one of their parents physically abusing the other but who has not been directly abused by that parent.

Q: Can we report parents who receive CY program-funded support and/or referrals if their children are not also being served?
A: No, only non-abusing parents/caregivers that received CY program-funded support or referrals whose child/youth also received CY program-funded services are reported.  If you are unsure about the scope of the services funded under your CY grant, contact your OVW program specialist.
